Deciding if group therapy is right for you depends on your individual needs, preferences, and comfort level. Here are some reasons why group therapy could be right for you:
Ultimately, the decision to participate in group therapy should be based on what feels right for you and aligns with your therapeutic goals.
Holly has experience supporting individuals who have experienced emotionally abusive, controlling or psychologically harmful relationships, including relationship dynamics involving narcissistic behaviours.
Her approach is trauma-informed, compassionate and strengths-based, supporting clients to understand the impact of emotional abuse, rebuild self-trust and confidence, develop healthy boundaries and reconnect with their sense of identity.
The Narcissistic & Emotional Abuse Recovery program was developed to provide structured support for people navigating the emotional impact of these relationships and working towards healthier patterns moving forward.
Drawing on Holly’s background in social work, counselling, trauma-informed practice and holistic wellbeing, the program combines therapeutic support with practical strategies for emotional awareness, self-care, boundaries and relationship wellbeing.
The focus is not simply on understanding what happened, but on helping you understand yourself, rebuild your confidence and move forward with greater clarity and choice.
One challenge our community members feel is being overwhelmed by their emotions and not knowing how to effectively manage them. Community members often find themselves getting caught up in negative thought patterns and struggling to break free from them.
Past group members joined because they’ve struggled with letting go and moving on after ending a relationship with a narcissistic partner and they wanted to learn some new coping strategies and connect with others who understand what they were going through.
You can improve your self-esteem and learn to become more compassionate towards yourself. You will also develop better communication skills and learn how to set boundaries in your relationships.
Being part of this group will provide you with a sense of support and understanding you may not have found elsewhere. It will also allow you to learn from others who are going or have gone through similar experiences and as a community, the group members can share insights and strategies for coping.
You will learn more about mindfulness and relaxation techniques for managing stress and anxiety. You will also find it helpful to discuss your experiences and as a collective learn strategies for challenging negative thought patterns and building resilience in the face of adversity.
